After seeing the position on the Careers Network website, Lauren Albrecht became one of two interns who worked in the HR Department of Pertemps for 9 weeks in summer 2013.
During the internship Lauren undertook a research project on the engagement of employees of Pertemps with their job and company. She formulated the wording of three separate surveys and analysed the results to create recommendations she felt Pertemps would benefit from. She presented the work she had done during her internship plus the recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Lauren enjoyed being immersed in the business environment and the main skill she felt she developed was teamwork and professionalism; both of which will help her in her career in the future.
“Undertaking this internship has increased my passion and interest for Occupational Psychology by seeing it in practice and cemented my wish to pursue a future career in this area. I also felt comfortable with the family feel of Pertemps, so will investigate being part of a family business in the future.”
