Working for Careers Network: Ekta Bhayani

ekta Ekta Bhayani works as part of the Careers Network Student Engagement Team (SET) as a Brand Promoter for the College of Social Sciences

This is my second year in the role and I’ve carried out numerous tasks supporting both the College of Social Sciences specifically and also Careers Network as a whole. As a Brand Promoter for CoSS, I liaise with lecturers on a regular basis to carry out lecture shouts promoting the careers services provided by Careers Network and to highlight key events that Careers Network is running.

Last year, I had responsibility for compiling the CoSS Careers fortnightly newsletter and gained experience using specialist software. In addition to these tasks for CoSS, I have supported Careers Network at Careers Fairs. I have been able to help throughout the process, from preparing materials and resources prior to events to the final tidy up at the end of the day. I really enjoy being a representative for the Careers Network to both students, when carrying out lecture shouts, and also to visiting employers at careers fairs; I have been able to develop my communication and interpersonal skills as a result. Moreover, I love being part of the team and actively helping to support the services Careers Network provides.
